Normative acts of the National Bank of Moldova

Rules regulate the transactions of buying foreign currency at private persons and operations of selling foreign currency to private persons on their personal means account.

In the Republic of Moldova these operations can carry out banks, foreign exchange offices possessing a license of the National Bank of Moldova) and hotels (possessing a license of the National Bank of Moldova for reception non-residents’ foreign currency for hotel services etc.

Rules stipulate conditions and order of issuing licenses to foreign exchange offices, exchange offices in hotels, rules of carrying out the operations of buying and selling foreign currency by banks, foreign exchange offices, exchange offices in hotels, operations with traveler’s checks and credit cards.

The control over realization of the operations of buying and selling foreign currency on the territory of the Republic of Moldova is being held by the National Bank of Moldova which can apply sanctions when the Rules’ requirements were violated.
